With over 20 years of experience in personal training, I’ve had the privilege of helping people from all walks of life achieve their (fitness) goals. My journey began with Thai boxing, where I first discovered the power of focused, one-on-one coaching. Over the years, my training evolved to include strength-based sessions and Ninjutsu, all while maintaining a commitment to continual learning and professional development.
In 2014, I earned my Muay Thai instructor certification in Koh Tao, Thailand. This was a milestone in my coaching career and an incredible opportunity to refine my skills. It was also in Thailand that I discovered CrossFit—a moment that changed my life and broadened my perspective on fitness.
Since then, I’ve added CrossFit-specific certifications to my repertoire, including the CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 Trainer certification and different Gymnastics and Olympic Weightlifting courses, to ensure I can offer the most effective training methods to my clients.
With a background that includes 12 years of CrossFit, 15 years of Ninjutsu and over 25 years of Muay Thai, I bring a unique mix of discipline, technique and passion to my coaching. Personal training is about more than just physical results; it’s about creating an environment where clients feel supported, motivated and empowered to reach their full potential.

Hi there! Maybe you have already seen me giving PT in the box. I have been coaching 1-on-1 for almost 8 years, both inside and outside the Crossfit Box.
In recent years there has been a huge shift in my coaching techniques. Where I used to spend a lot of time guiding people in their weight-loss or muscle gaining journey, I have now started investing a lot of time in the connection between body and mind.
In my opinion, more is not always better and we can all benefit from learning to listen to what our body is telling us. Even me as a coach!
During my personal training sessions I invest a lot of time in analyzing your needs as an athlete and take the time to really listen to you. I think it’s important that we look at the overall picture. Because we move our bodies, but how does your body and mind feel that day?

A life-changing moment in 2018 shifted my perspective and set me on a new path focused on health and well-being, both physically and mentally. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to learning everything I can about health, completing two mental coaching programs, earning my CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 coaching certifications and diving deep into a wide range of health-related content.
For the past year and a half, I’ve had the privilege of coaching at CrossFit Coolhaven, where it’s become clear to me that supporting others on their journey to a healthier, happier life is my true passion. Hi, I’m Mylène Besters, a physiotherapist with a deep fascination for fascia – the connective tissue that links and supports the entire body. I see the body as a whole: often, the root cause of a complaint isn’t isolated to one area, which is what makes my work so interesting.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and over nine years of experience in treatment, coaching, and training, I have built a strong foundation. My specializations, including Neurokinetics Level 1 & 2, running biomechanics, and Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function, help me address the underlying causes of issues rather than just treating the symptoms.
Training is an intrinsic part of my life, and it forms the foundation of my approach as a therapist. I believe that movement is essential for a healthy body and mind – something I’m passionate about passing on to my clients. My treatments combine techniques such as orthopedic rehabilitation and trigger point therapy, with the goal of achieving long-lasting results.
For me, the key is a strong connection with the people I work with. Building that personal rapport enables me to deliver truly tailored treatments, aligned with your unique situation and goals.

I have more than 30 years of personal experience in a large diversity of martial arts, I’m experienced in Judo, Ninjutsu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Grappling and MMA (mixed martial arts).
For the last 15 years and with a lot of passion as well as pleasure I have been teaching many people in martial arts.
My trainings are is suitable for beginners and experienced athletes but also for professional fighters.
Behind my coaching is a philosophy based on making you fit and resilient. The aim is to grow your self-confidence, feel more powerful and fitter. We also ensure that you have a good time to stay motivated and inspired.
FAQ
The number of sessions depends on your goals and availability. Most people find that 1 to 3 sessions per week provide the right balance of guidance, accountability and progress. Your personal trainer will help you determine the best frequency based on your goals, budget and schedule.
All personal training sessions are approximately 60 minutes, while skill sessions are 30 minutes.
Personal training sessions can only be booked outside of our regular class hours.
We require a 24-hour cancellation notice for all personal training sessions. Refunds are not available for missed or late-canceled sessions.
